Submission of abstracts to NCPO24

A. Free Papers

The conference provides the opportunity for CPO clinicians, researchers, P&O students and others in the prosthetics and orthotics field to submit abstracts for the Free Paper presentation sessions.

The submissions will undergo a peer-review process for selection of oral presentations within the final programme. The abstract should be informative and structured. See Requirements on Abstracts. 

Maximum amount: 1 page (A4 size). Use the templates provided below.

At submission of Free Paper abstracts the authors can select if the abstract would be considered as Poster, if not accepted for oral presentation.

Free papers of four types will be considered for acceptance:

  1. original research findings,
  2. literature reviews,
  3. technical notes of clinical techniques,
  4. case studies.

Accepted Free Papers presentations are given specified time slot of maximum 15 minutes each, including some few questions from audience.

The Conference Committee reserves the right to accept or reject abstracts. Submitting authors will be notified of the decision by email.

B. Posters

A poster exhibition area will be arranged at the conference for display of accepted posters. In this way conference participants may get access to the content during the conference hours, however, are not ensured possibility for meeting with authors.

Posters of four types will be considered for acceptance:

  1. original research findings,
  2. literature reviews,
  3. technical notes of clinical techniques,
  4. case studies.

The authors submit their poster abstract using the templates available below. The accepted posters should be printed on paper in A1 size (594 x 841 mm) and provided by the authors at the site of poster exhibition. One page per accepted poster.

The posters’ authors are encouraged to be available at their poster during breaks, but not obliged to do so. The Conference Committee reserves the right to accept or reject abstracts. Submitting authors will be notified of the decision by email.

Requirements on Abstracts:

Abstracts should be clearly structured and informative and provide the audience with the precise content of the free paper presentation or poster. Abstracts should use the structured formats provided in the template per type of abstract, see below.

References should be stated with numbers in the text and a corresponding list of references in chronological order of appearance at the end. To save space, please use a reduced type of reference list: with authors, journal/book title, year, issue number, pages, but not title of the paper.

The results of the study/work must be included in the abstract at submission. Statement of clinical relevance is important to include.

All included authors must have taken substantial part in the work that the abstract is based upon. All authors must have given their consent to the submitted abstract manuscript. The submitted manuscript should be original work.

State if artificial intelligence, AI, have been used or not in the work. When applicable state which AI tool you have used. Use the provided template.

The authors are responsible for content, presentation, and display.

Note that abstracts for Free Papers and Posters are not for promotion of specific products, business concepts or other commercial interests. There are other places within the
Conference for that purpose, such as Exhibition, Workshops and Speakers Corner presentations.

With submission, the submitting author confirms that the abstract fulfil those requirements.
